Kansas Medical Center uses leading edge technology to deliver all the services you expect from a general acute care hospital in a convenient, comfortable, patient-focused environment. Our impressive 60 bed facility has been designed from the ground up by physicians, who understand the most effective way to meet your health care needs. Most other hospitals rely on traditional long hallway in the patient wings, which can make it difficult to provide prompt response to the patient. Dr. Idbeis, KMC’s founder, set out to create a unique layout that enhances prompt patient monitoring. The Y-Shaped design creates four patient room modules, or “patient Pods,” in which every room is within easy reach of the staff. The Y-Pod layout enhances the effectiveness of KMC’s superior nurse/patient ratios of 1-4 in the patient wings and 1-2 or better in the ICU.
